Former Louisiana Attorney General Charles C. Foti, Jr. has joined New Orleans law firm Kahn Swick & Foti, LLC ("KSF") as a named partner, the firm announced today. General Foti will continue his work with KSF' securities and consumer fraud practice groups, including KSF' institutional client base.
Charles C. Foti, Jr. was sworn in on January 12, 2004 as Louisiana's Attorney General, after serving for 30 years as one of the most innovative law enforcement officials in the United States, Orleans Parish Criminal Sheriff. Prior to holding that position, he served for numerous years as an attorney for several local, state and federal agencies.
Attorney General Foti graduated from Loyola University Law School in 1965, and served his country in the United States army from 1955 through 1958.
General Foti joins a strong securities and consumer class action practice at KSF. With lawyers in New Orleans and New York City, KSF, as lead or co-lead counsel in securities fraud class actions, has recovered over $30 million for aggrieved shareholders in the past 18 months.
Lewis Kahn, Managing Partner at KSF stated, "We were honored last year when General Foti joined KSF as Of Counsel, and are humbled that the General has decided to dedicate himself to our firm's goal of advancing shareholder rights. General Foti has a deep institutional knowledge base as a consequence of his distinguished career protecting Louisiana citizens both as Louisiana Attorney General and Orleans Parish Criminal Sheriff for 30 years."
General Foti added, "Over the past 18 months, I have been impressed with KSF's talented team of lawyers who are committed to fighting for justice on behalf of the victims of fraud. I look forward to helping the firm grow its practice both within our great state of Louisiana and the surrounding southern states."
